19-Yr-Old JAGVIR MALHI Was An Unintended Victim Of Abbotsford Targeted Shooting: IHIT

Darpan News Desk, 06 Dec, 2019 08:52 PM

At a special press conference today, IHIT said that 19-year-old Jagvir Malhi, who was killed on November 12, 2018 in Abbotsford was an unintended victim of what was a shooting targeting another individual.

“Jagvir Malhi was a young university student. He had no criminal history but there were those in his life who were involved in the gang conflict,” said IHIT Sgt. Frank Jang.

The shooting happened in Abbotsford near an elementary school, which was closed for the Remembrance Day statutory holiday.

IHIT released new photos of the suspect vehicles linked to the homicide. They said no charges have been laid and they do not have a suspect.

The Homicide Investigation Team also says that a Blue Acura has been linked to the shooting. It was found on fire in Whalley 15 minutes after the gunfire, but was quickly doused by fire crews. Investigators believe the suspects fled in this White Mazda.

IHIT would like to speak with anyone that has information about either vehicles.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551- IHIT (4448), or by email atihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
