R-C-M-P in Ladysmith say a 19-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash.

It happened last night shortly after 10 p-m in the southbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway, which was closed for several hours.

Police say the man was driving a Nissan 350-Z, and while first responders tried to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
