17-Year-Old Jaylen Sandhu Dead After Attack In Surrey

    SURREY, B.C. — Homicide investigators have been called in after an assault in the Vancouver area that ended with a 17-year-old boy dead.
     
    The region's RCMP-led homicide unit says police were called Thursday afternoon about an assault in Surrey.
     
    The stabbing happened near Holy Cross Regional secondary school at 16300 block of 88th Avenue around 2:30 p.m. which was on lockdown for around 30 minutes.
     
    A news release says 17-year-old Jaylen Sandhu ran away and sought assistance at a nearby residence.
     
    He was transported to hospital but he died a short time later.
     
    The news release says the suspect fled and there have not been any arrests.
