15 year old in hospital after being stabbed on the grounds of a Delta elementary school

On Wednesday at 9:40 pm, Delta Police responded to a stabbing that occurred on the grounds of McCloskey Elementary School.

Upon arrival, officers provided first aid to a 15-year-old victim with stab wounds. The youth was transferred to a local hospital and is in stable condition. The injuries have been classified as non-life threatening.

The investigation has determined the victim was targeted. There is no known connection to any other high-profile assaults in the lower mainland involving youth.

While the incident occurred on school grounds, there is no connection to the school.

Police officers will be in the area today to continue the investigation and look to collect video.

If you were driving in the area of 116^th St and 80^th Ave on April 12^th, between 9:20 pm and 9:50 pm, and you have dash camera video, our investigators would like to hear from you. The stolen property included everything from stoves, fridges, toilets and plumbing fixtures, to flooring and lighting, with many items still in their original packaging. The value of seized goods is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some individual items are estimated to be worth as much as $25,000.
