12-Year-Old Boy Dies After Stabbing At Downtown Toronto Hotel

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 03 Jun, 2015 11:11 AM
TORONTO — A 12-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in a downtown Toronto hotel, but few other details were immediately available.

Officers were called to reports of the stabbing at the Cambridge Suites Hotel in the city's financial district just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

"They located a 12-year-old boy who was suffering from a trauma. There was an emergency run to hospital where he was later pronounced dead," Const. Caroline de Kloet told The Canadian Press.

"It's the early stages of the investigation and homicide is investigating."

One person is being questioned in connection with the incident, de Kloet said, but there was no word on whether charges had been laid.

Hours after the incident, police announced that there was no threat to public safety and said "everyone involved is accounted for."
