As of Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, 89.9% (4,481,509) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 84% (4,187,417) have received their second dose.

In addition, 92.7% (4,298,551) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.1% (4,175,103) have received their second dose and 46.4% (2,152,427) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.1% (4,026,371) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.5% (3,915,756) received their second dose and 49.7% (2,150,480) have received a third dose.

B.C. is reporting 1,236 new cases of COVID-19, including two new epi-linked cases, for a total of 325,851 cases in the province.

There are 28,302 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 293,488 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 1,035 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital and 139 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

The new/active cases include:

  • 253 new cases in Fraser Health
    • Total active cases: 11,756
  • 212 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
    • Total active cases: 5,878
  • 406 new cases in Interior Health
    • Total active cases: 7,949
  • 171 new cases in Northern Health
    • Total active cases: 1,167
  • 188 new cases in Island Health
    • Total active cases: 1,534
  • six new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
    • Total active cases: 18

In the past 24 hours, nine new deaths have been reported, for an overall total of 2,625.

The new deaths include:

  • Fraser Health: nine

There are two new health-care facility outbreaks at Tsawaayuus Rainbow Gardens and Berwick on The Lake (Island Health). The outbreaks at Menno Hospital, Buchanan Lodge, Eden Care Centre (Fraser Health), Royal Jubilee Hopsital and Comox Valley Seniors Village (Island Health) have been declared over, for a total of 55 facilities with ongoing outbreaks, including:

  • long-term care:
    • George Derby Centre, Cascade Lodge, Mountain View Manor, Queen's Park Care Centre, Royal City Manor, Residence at Clayton Heights (Fraser Health)
    • Evergreen House, Louis Brier Home and Hospital (Vancouver Coastal Health)
    • Lakeview Lodge, Heritage Square, Village at Smith Creek, Westview Place, Pinegrove Care Centre, Mariposa Gardens, Joseph Creek Care Village, Hamlets at Penticton, Mount Ida Mews, Cottonwoods Care Centre, Dr. Andrew Pavillion, Poplar Ridge, Monashee Mews, Noric House, McKinney Place, Glenmore Lodge (Interior Health)

From Jan. 24-30, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 25.3% of cases.

From Jan. 17-30, they accounted for 30.8% of hospitalizations.

Past week cases (Jan. 24-30) - Total 11,068

  • Not vaccinated: 2,260 (20.4%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 543 (4.9%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 8,265 (74.7%)

Past two weeks cases hospitalized (Jan. 17-30) - Total 1,129

  • Not vaccinated: 297 (26.3%)
  • Partially vaccinated: 51 (4.5%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 781 (69.2%)

Past week, cases per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Jan. 24-30)

  • Not vaccinated: 418.2
  • Partially vaccinated: 166.6
  • Fully vaccinated: 216.5

Past two weeks, cases hospitalized per 100,000 population after adjusting for age (Jan. 17-30)

  • Not vaccinated: 75.4
  • Partially vaccinated: 41.5
  • Fully vaccinated: 16.7

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 10,779,487 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccines.
