Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 26 Oct, 2016 12:09 PM
QUEBEC — One of the accused in an alleged series of break-ins and sexual assaults at a Quebec university student residence is now facing a dozen additional charges.

Thierno-Ourny Barry, 19, was first arraigned Saturday.

The Crown added a dozen charges today during an appearance at the Quebec City courthouse, including four of breaking and entering at Universite Laval with the intent to commit sexual assault.

Two men — both students — were arrested in connection with the Oct. 15 alleged crimes.

Barry, who now faces 13 charges in all, will remain detained until a bail hearing Nov. 4.

The other man was previously released on a promise to appear at a later date.

The university said Saturday the two accused have been expelled from the school.

Quebec City police Capt. Mario Vezina said the accused knew one another.
