10-Yr-Old Saskatoon Girl Sells Lemonade To Raise Money To Help People With Cystic Fibrosis

    SASKATOON — A Saskatoon girl has turned her v stand into a non-profit business to raise money to help people with cystic fibrosis.
     
     
    Cassidy Evans, who is 10, set up her first lemonade stand outside her home five years ago, shortly after she was diagnosed with the fatal genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.
     
     
    Since then demand has increased each year to the point where she now sells the beverage from a truck that is emblazoned with a sign that says "Cassidy's Lemonade Stand."
     
     
    To date, she has raised nearly $40,000 through her lemonade operation.
     
     
    After a few years in Moose Jaw the family is back in Saskatoon and business is booming.
     
     
    Cassidy Evans says she knew she was on to something when hundreds of people would line up for her lemonade.
     
     
    "I like when I can see other people being happy, so I thought maybe if I could do something for other people, it would help them and it would also help me,” Evans said Tuesday.
     
     
    The girl says she does just about all the day-to-day lemonade duties, but wishes she could drive the truck.  
     
     
    Kimberly Evans, Cassidy’s mom, says the donations have made a difference to the care provided at the local clinic. (CTV Saskatoon)
