At approximately 7:30 this morning, Langley RCMP received reports of shots heard in the 20100 block of 84 Avenue.

Police located an individual at the scene suffering from what is believed to be a gunshot wound.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) attended and transported the individual to a local area hospital. 

"Officers remain on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident but at this time there is no risk to the public," states Cpl. Zynal Sharoom. 

Anyone with more information, dash cam footage about this incident is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604 532-3200

B-C is experiencing a spike in COVID-19 numbers, with cases, hospitalizations and deaths all up in recent weeks. The monthly report from the B-C Centre for Disease Control shows that 447 people tested positive for the virus between August 27th and September 2nd -- more than triple the 133 cases recorded in the first full week of last month.
