VidTalks 2017: Helping build a video presence for businesses

Petrina D'Souza, 16 Mar, 2017 04:03 PM
Social media is a great tool in today’s marketing world. Any simple tweet or video can go viral online anytime and can make news. But how do you use social media to your advantage? To grow your company or increase your branding? A lot of us have the tools but don’t know how to use it. This was one of the many reasons VidTalks, an online video marketing conference, was organized.

The first-ever VidTalks 2017 was held on March 16 at Fairmont Vancouver with an aim to help businesses learn ways to grow their presence through YouTube marketing. Experts from the digital world came under one roof to share their advice and inputs on how companies can use YouTube to build their brand. From creating high quality videos and YouTube optimization strategies for more exposure to increasing sales and brand awareness with influencer marketing, the event covered a variety of topics on building an effective video presence for organizations.

One of the topics presented was ‘Planning and creating high quality video content for your brand’ by Justin Sabarre, co-founder of Pushr, a creative video agency that specializes in creating video content for startups and tech companies. Being an expert in the field, Sabarre pointed out that videos get the most number of shares on social media as compared to posts and tweets. Through his presentation he stated the various components of video and content creation – such as script, composition, lighting, and editing, among others. There are also various softwares and apps online that can be used to create the video of our choice.

Another speaker Sunny Lenarduzzi, an award-winning video, social media and online business strategist, spoke on ‘Reaching your target market with content marketing on YouTube.’ This talented expert shared with the audience the story of how YouTube changed her life. “Content marketing is about how your content can educate the viewers,” said Lenarduzzi, while talking about educational videos and the right use of keywords.

Overall, VidTalks 2017 was a much-needed session for companies or individuals wanting to understand social media and learn the many benefits it offers.
