Playland Nights return with special 19+ evenings

Darpan News Desk, 05 Jun, 2019 10:17 PM

Playland Amusement Park is proud to announce Playland Nights is returning this summer with special offerings for adults only and an incredible entertainment roster that would rival even the best night club scene.

Beginning July 5, every Friday evening from 7pm to midnight that month, Playland Nights will return with dedicated, adults-only (19+) attractions and entertainment.

In addition to guest DJs spinning party tunes under the twinkling lights, people can enjoy Playland-inspired adult beverages like this year’s brand new Dry Ice cocktail and Tito’s Handmade Vodka drink, which is a combination of Tito’s Very Berry Lemonade, Jalapeno Lemonade and Canadian Mule. There will also be craft beer and wine to enjoy while participating in all of the fun Playland can offer.

This year make sure to watch out for the roaming Underground Circus crew who are just one of the entertainment features for 2019. They are a roaming group of acrobats who bring with them a roaming Circus a la Carte full of circus menu items. They will be looking to engage with guests who will be asked to tell members of the group what they want to see – balancing, juggling or acrobatic moves. Guests will be encouraged to join in their acts where appropriate.

And the variety show entertainment lineup heats up beginning at 8 pm each Friday-in-July evening with Drum N Dirty. Ready to get the party started, Drum N Dirty is a live percussion DJ who drums to reimagined and remixed party music.

At 9 pm, guests can dance along to Samba Fusion, a group of Brazilian samba showgirls who are known for lighting up an event with their carnival costumes and high-impact energy.

America’s Got Talent and MTV’s stunt magician, comedian extraordinaire and Instagram influencer Wes Barker will be on stage at 10 pm for each of the evenings. Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Barker is known for his ability to interact with the crowd and fool even the best of them including the iconic magician team Penn & Teller – as seen on Netflix.

Finally rounding out the stage entertainment is none other than the Dancing Teasing Fabulousness team whose Dezi Desire and Mister Nickel inspired burlesque show is the perfect evening entertainment cap.

And of course, a Playland experience wouldn’t be complete without the rides. More than 20 of Playland’s games and 20 of the park’s favourite rides will be open, including the Flume, with its 40-foot drop, The Beast, with its unparalleled g-forces, and the heart-stopping Hellevator.
