In only two years, Fraser Valley dad and FUUD.ca entrepreneur Thomas Buchan has turned his delivered-to-your-door, farm fresh meal kit service into a thriving local business that feeds dozens of households per day, and even grabbed the attention of the Canadian television show, Dragon’s Den. 
 
“We were stunned when the producers of Dragon’s Den called us,” said the humble part-time film producer, co-founder and culinary artist. “It certainly assured us we were on the right track when it came to our business model.”
 
In 2016, Buchan and his team of 12 employees started the local company FUUD.ca that caters to the heavily-scheduled family with easy-to-integrate recipes and locally sourced ingredients. Never settling for ordinary, in 2017, Buchan brought on Executive Chef and Vancouver-raised Michael Winning who has spent most his career cooking across the globe – 80 countries and 400 cities to date. 
 
Despite the celebrity attention and accolades as of late, Buchan says his company is still devoted to why they started the company in the first place. “We wanted to provide families with the tool kit they needed for producing healthy, locally sourced meals in a time-efficient manner that could involve every family member and that’s still our main objective,” explains Buchan
 
Buchan and Chef Winning will be among the featured exhibitors at the annual Vancouver Baby and Family Fair happening October 28 and 29 at the Vancouver Convention Centre East Facility Hall C. “We’re really excited to have FUUD.ca among our featured list of exhibitors. We recognize they offer a service that allows families the opportunity to have some quality unplugged time where they not only cook together, but the kids also learn about fresh organic food while holding conversations with their family members that might not otherwise happen,” says Fair Producer Virginia Ritchie. ‘It’s all about getting back to basics.” 
 
Fair attendees will be able to take part in interactive displays, shop the best in household necessities and family must-haves and listen to a wide range of speakers who are both informative and entertaining.
