A list of tips and tricks to help you find inspiration on days you need it the most!

We all face days we feel unmotivated and uninspired, days we have no idea of where to begin. Even though your to-do list might be quite long, you just can’t find the energy to get up and get started, to wake up from this enervated state you’re stuck in. This is when we need inspiration the most, which can come in many different forms. The world is full of endless possibilities, and if we learn how to open our minds, we can find inspiration in nature, through technology, through everyday occurrences, and through people we meet. Here’s a list of tips and tricks to help you find inspiration on days you need it the most!

Get outdoors

Connecting yourself with nature can really help your creative juices flow again! Just going for a peaceful walk or run and admiring the beauty of the world around can leave you feeling refreshed, energetic, and motivated.

Yoga and meditation

Yoga and meditation is an effective way to clear your mind and tune out distractions from the world. It provides you with a mental break, allowing you to refocus your mind.

Watch TED Talks

Sometimes watching or listening to people you admire can help you find inspiration. The purpose of TED talks is to share knowledge and research amongst a global audience. Most TED talks are very inspiring and motivating as people of all different professions from all around the world use this platform to share their personal journey and stories.

Volunteer

Give back to the community by volunteering. It allows you to do something good for others, while feeling good about yourself at the same time. Through volunteering, you get the chance to meet many people of different backgrounds, and maybe even someone who you will be inspired by. Volunteering leaves you feeling satisfied and accomplished, and is a great use of your time.

Disconnect

Give yourself time to disconnect from technology - put away your phone, laptop, and turn off the T.V. The internet and social media, especially, tend to pull our attention and mind in a bunch of different directions. Disconnecting from technology once in a while is important in order for your mind to clear itself without getting caught in distractions. Allow yourself to think about anything, and your mind to wander and imagine.

Wake up early

Try walking up 30 minutes or an hour before you usually do. It will be difficult at first, but it will allow you to have some time to yourself before you get started with your day. Use this time to workout, meditate, do yoga, or even just sit down and relax. It’s a great way to get your thoughts organized for the day, and find inspiration for tasks ahead.

Ready to spring forward? Good sleep patterns key as daylight time begins
As Canadians prepare to set their clocks ahead an hour this weekend for the start of daylight time, chronically sleep-deprived people could be hit hard by the change."If you're getting five to six hours of sleep regularly as an adult instead of what's recommended — the seven to eight hours — then you're going to suffer a bit more when you have one less hour of sleep than you would if someone who has more regular sleep scheduling,"
