Diwali Gala - SFU

SFU 13th annual Diwali gala celebrated the university’s engagements with the South Asian community locally.

It took place with a lot of pomp and show at Bombay Banquet Hall in Surrey.

Prominent business, government, and community leaders from the Lower Mainland were present, as well as SFU alumni, faculty, staff and students, as they came together again to celebrate this signature event and raise funds to support SFU student work and volunteer opportunities in India.

Diwali Gala - Indo-Canadian Dental Association

The Indo -Canadian Dental Association(ICDA), a non-profit organization of Indian dental professionals, came together to celebrate Diwali.

The mandate of the organization is to promote oral health in our communities.

The occasion was graced by high profile politicians such as Mayor of Surrey Brenda Locke and Minister of Labour Harry Bains. 

There was melodious singing by local talent and cultural dance performances also took place as well delicious Indian snacks and food was served. 

The Gala included fundraising initiatives in support of the oral health related charities in BC.
