Darpan News Desk City of Surrey, 20 May, 2021 10:32 AM
  • City of Surrey Outdoor Pools Opening Earlier This Summer

Surrey BC – Surrey’s outdoor pools will be open for swimmers earlier this summer to provide residents with additional and safe outdoor recreational opportunities. All appropriate health protocols will be in place to ensure community safety.

Outdoor Pool Opening Dates:

  • Sunnyside, Greenaway, and Bear Creek will open May 17.
  • Hjorth Road will open June 5.
  • Unwin, Port Kells, Holly and Kwantlen will open June 26.
  • Lifeguarding services at Crescent Beach will begin June 26..

Public swimming is free at all outdoor pools, but all swimmers must pre-register, due to the current Public Health Order. Registration is no longer permitted in person and will only be taken by phone. Visit Tides Out for registration details, pool schedules and information on affordable swim lessons.

Public safety considerations include reduced swimming capacity, distance markings, and enhanced first aid and lifeguard rescue procedures.
