The lights are switched on November 25 and free events throughout the holiday season include special themed nights, light making workshops, scavenger hunts, and more!

    Surrey Tree Lighting Festival

On November 25, Surrey City Hall Plaza will host its annual tree lighting from 12 noon to 7 pm. Enjoy light displays, free outdoor concerts, street performers, and of course, the main highlight – the lighting of a 50 foot Christmas tree! Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make an appearance!

    CandyTown in Yaletown

Back for its sixth year on November 25, downtown’s only free outdoor Christmas festival will be in full swing. Head down to Yaletown’s Main Street where you’ll find free horse carriage rides, live entertainment, visits with Santa, an ice carving demonstration, and more!

    Burnaby Village Museum Heritage Christmas

Between November 25 to January 5, Burnaby’s Village Museum transforms into a holiday wonderland complete with fairy lights, heritage holiday displays, and a host of family-friendly activities for all ages. Enjoy theatre performances, choirs as well as craft, baking and a scavenger hunt for children.

    Yule Duel at Gastown

On December 7, head to Gastown for the ultimate caroling experience. Dozens of choirs will get together to perform. They’ll battle it out for an award, judged by an expert panel of BC’s finest. Join in the sing-along and cheer on your favourites at this unique event!
