By Tarana Rana, 22 Jan, 2018 05:11 PM

Ring in the New Year with some quintessential Vancouver winter fun!

The holidays may be done and over, but there is still a month or two left to enjoy Vancouver’s winter activities. Teeming with both outdoor and indoor activities, here are some of the top things to check out this January and February.

    Take a Snow Limo

If you’re not a skier or snowboarder or you just fancy a unique winter experience, consider booking a snow limo tour on Grouse Mountain. A personal snow limo chauffeur will take you up the snow-capped mountain to enjoy breathtaking views. Just bundle up, sit back and relax! For more information on how to book a tour, visit snow-limotours.com

    Dine Out Vancouver Festival

A Vancouver staple, Dine Out is one of the city’s most anticipated winter festivals. Over 17 days, restaurants all across Vancouver’s Lower Mainland offer multi-course menus at a discounted rate of $20, $30 or $40 – which means you can check out new cuisines for less. Running from January 19 to February 4, check out the full schedule of participating restaurants and special culinary events at dineoutvancouver.com.

    Hot Chocolate Festival

Another Vancouver winter favourite, the annual Hot Chocolate festival is on from January 20 all the way till Valentine’s Day on February 14. Enjoy steaming mugs of gourmet hot chocolate from participating cafes around the city. Each venue has a selection of interesting and unique flavours, check out the offerings at hotchocolatefest.com

    Free Ice Skating

Robson Square’s outdoor ice skating rink will be open till the end of February 2018, so if you haven’t had a chance to hit the ice over the holidays, now’s the time! Open seven days a week, enjoy some affordable winter fun right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The ice rink is free to all and you can rent ice-skates (with helmets) at the venue.

    Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year parade in Vancouver’s Chinatown is a show-stopping festival that shouldn’t be missed! Starting on February 18, from 11 am, enjoy spectacular lion dances, marching bands, and other live entertainment. In celebration of Chinese New Year, FlyOver Canada will also present a special ‘Flight of the Dragon’ ride experience.
