US Inflicts Visa Restrictions and Property Ban Over Ukraine

    Ukraine is catching much attention in world politics after the recent turmoil deepened in the country. Latest reports from the scene state that US is imposing visa restrictions and moving to freeze US assets of those involved in Russia's move on Ukraine.
     
    Xinhua quoted the White House saying that visa restrictions on several officials reflects US' decision to deny visas to those "responsible for or complicit in threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine." 
     
    The move comes shortly after US suspended bilateral discussions with Russia pertaining to trade and investment, alongside, putting US-Russia military-to-military engagement, on hold. 
     
    Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin termed the tragic cycle of events in Ukraine as a coup and said that use of force was Russia's last resort to solving the ongoing crisis. 
     
    Meanwhile, US expressed its agreement with other G7 nations to suspend their participation in activities associated with the preparation of the scheduled G-8 summit for the time being. The summit is scheduled to take place in Sochi, Russia in June.
