US Family Begs For Mercy For Couple Held In Afghanistan

Darpan News Desk IANS, 04 Jul, 2016 11:38 AM
STEWARTSTOWN, Pa. — The family of an American woman reported missing in Afghanistan in 2012 with her Canadian husband is pleading for mercy from the couple's captors.

Caitlan Coleman and Joshua Boyle lost touch with their families while travelling in a mountainous region near the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Her parents tell Circa News ( ) they received a letter from her in November 2015. Jim and Lyn Coleman say from their Pennsylvania home their daughter wrote she'd given birth to two boys while in captivity.

The letter was the first communication from her since they received two videos in 2013 in which the couple asked the U.S. government to free them from the Taliban.

Jim Coleman appealed to the couple's captors to let them go and to be "kind and merciful" as the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close.
