Ukraine warns Russia against interference

Darpan News Desk IANS, 31 Mar, 2014 02:23 PM
Ukraine Monday asked Russia to stop interfering in its internal affairs in response to Moscow's calls on Kiev to establish a federal form of government.

"We consider such statements as rude and naked interference in our internal affairs," Xinhua quoted Ukranian foreign ministry spokesman Eugene Perebiynis telling reporters.

Perebiynis urged Kremlin to focus on developing their own statehood and protecting the rights of the national minorities who live in Russia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Sunday proposed Kiev move to federalisation and give Russian language the status of Ukraine's second state language as a way to solve the political crisis.
