Taliban to resume hiring govt employees, excluding women

Kabul, Jan 11 (IANS) The Taliban has announced that they will resume the hiring process of Afghan government employees, excluding female staffers, the media reported on Tuesday.
Addressing mediapersons here on Monday, officials of the Taliban's Administrative Reform Commission said that they will recruit civil servants through open competition, Khaama Press reported.
When asked about hiring female staffers, the officials said that a decision on the issue was yet to be taken and would take time.
The Commission's head Kiramatullah Akhundzada said that they will work towards "ensuring further facilities in government administration and work for further reforms in the administrations".
Local authorities have conducted investigations after New York University (NYU) evacuated multiple buildings due to bomb threats. The locations were soon evacuated, according to the university. Police conducted a search and later issued an all clear, reports Xinhua news agency.
International flight arrivals are expected to rise 11 per cent on Monday over a similar day in October at Newark Liberty and John F. Kennedy international airports, with 253 flights scheduled to arrive, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Xinhua news agency reported.
