Vancouver police say one person was killed after being run over and pinned under a vehicle while walking on Granville Island, one of the city's busiest tourist destinations.
Spokesman Randy Fincham says an SUV drove into a building at around 12:30 p.m.
Fincham says the vehicle struck two other pedestrians, who suffered only minor injuries, and the driver is co-operating with police.
Fatima Siddiqui, of B.C. Emergency Health Services, says no one has been taken to hospital in the two hours following the crash.

Jonathan Gormick, spokesman for the Vancouver Fire Department, says the severity of the incident prompted a heavy response from emergency crews, which included two ambulances, two heavy rescue outfits, a fire engine and command staff.
Gormick says a structural engineer is inspecting the two-storey wood building to gauge whether it's safe to enter.
