  • Suspect In Killing Of UK Lawmaker To Face Trial In Autumn
LONDON — The man charged with murdering British lawmaker Jo Cox is expected to face trial in the autumn.
 
Thomas Mair, 52, appeared in the Old Bailey court Thursday via video-link from a high-security prison.
 
He is accused of murder and other crimes related to the death of Cox, 41, and an elderly man who was seriously injured.
 
The trial was tentatively set to start in mid-November ,with the next hearing in September.
 
Mair has not yet entered a plea.
 
At his first hearing, Mair gave his name as "death to traitors, freedom for Britain." A psychiatric report was ordered after that statement.
 
He confirmed his name during the video proceedings Thursday.
 
Cox was stabbed and shot to death before a meeting with constituents last week.
