A suitcase exploded near a reception centre for refugees in Zirndorf, a city near Nuremberg in southern Germany, local media reported on Wednesday.
 
The explosion occurred about 200 metres from the reception centre. The police have arrived at the scene, reported Bavarian Radio, citing the police.
 
The radio initially said that the explosion occurred in an immigration office, reported Xinhua news agency.
 
According to police, eyewitnesses reported a loud bang and then discovered a burning suitcase in a small garden.
