Russia suspends four McDonald restaurants

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Aug, 2014 08:25 AM
Russia's consumer rights watchdog said Wednesday it has temporarily shut down four McDonald's restaurants here, including the first ever outlet in the country, citing sanitary violations.

"During the snap inspections on Aug 18-20, sanitary rules violations have been detected in those fast-food outlets. Administrative cases have been initiated and will be passed to the courts," Xinhua quoted the watchdog Rospotrebnadzor as saying in a statement.

Inspections of other outlets pertaining to this chain will continue, it added. The chain currently operates over 430 outlets throughout Russia.
