Men detained outside Obama's hotel in Brisbane

Darpan News Desk IANS, 16 Nov, 2014 10:50 AM
Two men have been released after police detained them Sunday for more than an hour near the US president's hotel in Brisbane.

The men, who had two suitcases, were searched about 50 metres from the Marriott Hotel where Barack Obama has been staying for the G20 leaders summit, The Brisbane Times reported.

One of the men, who appeared to be in his 20s, was the primary focus of police attention.

Both men and their bags were searched.

Police did not say why the men were detained, and the pair declined to speak to the media after being released.

President Obama left the hotel in the morning for the G20 venue at South Bank.
