Israeli PM Says He Has Good Relationship With Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 21 Jan, 2016 11:33 AM
DAVOS, Switzerland — Benjamin Netanyahu says he has struck a very good relationship with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The Israeli prime minister says the pair had a great meeting at an earlier international gathering in Paris.

Netanyahu was seen to be extremely close to former prime minister Stephen Harper, whose Conservative government was a vocal supporter of Israel.

Both leaders are at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, where Netanyahu says he has no misgivings about Canada's new Liberal government.

Although Trudeau has pledged to pull Canadian fighter jets from the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, Netanyahu says that's a purely Canadian decision.

Harper stressed his support for Israel in a major speech in Israel in 2014, when he promised that Canada would stand with the Jewish state through fire and water.
