Indonesia to release AirAsia crash report a year later

Darpan News Desk IANS, 13 Jan, 2015 10:51 AM
The final report of the investigation into the crash of the AirAsia flight QZ8501 will be published at least one year later, an Indonesian official said here Tuesday.

"A final report containing all the results of the probe into the crash will be released one year later," Xinhua news agency quoted Tatang Kurniadi, chairman of the Indonesian Transport Safety Committee, as saying in a press conference in Pangkalan Bun city, Central Kalimantan.

The formal investigation will commence after the release of a preliminary report, said Kurniadi, adding that the preliminary factual report, which has no analysis, will be released within one month.

Tatang Kurniadi said a draft of the final report will be delivered to countries, including France, Singapore and the US for evaluation.

The Airbus A320-200 with 162 passengers and crew on board crashed into the Java Sea Dec 28 shortly after taking off from the Indonesian city of Surabaya for Singapore.
