IANS, 03 Jun, 2015 12:46 PM
In Indian-origin taxi driver in Australia's capital Canberra has pleaded guilty to raping an intoxicated passenger, the media reported on Wednesday.

Neelander Neel Sirohi, 31, had earlier pleaded not guilty to the rape charges at an Australian magistrate's court but changed his plea to guilty on Wednesday before the Australian Capital Territory Supreme Court, the Canberra Times reported.

The intoxicated woman boarded Sirohi's taxi at 3.20 a.m. from near the Civic bus interchange in August 2013.

The victim told police she had little memory of the ordeal due to having consumed alcohol and prescription medication.
