Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are scheduled to meet in New York this month during the UN General Assembly (UNGA), media reported Saturday.

This would be the first meeting between Modi and Hasina after the BJP came to power in India in May, bdnews 24 reported.

Permanent representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, Abulkalam Abdul Momen, said that the two leaders will meet Sep 27.

"Narendra Modi will be the sixth speaker while Sheikh Hasina is the eighth at the General Assembly Sep 27. They will meet after their speeches are over," said Momen.

Hasina will arrive in New York Sep 22 to attend the 69th UN General Assembly.
