Former 'West Wing' Star Greets White House Reporters

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Apr, 2016 12:00 PM
WASHINGTON — Allison Janney played a White House press secretary on "The West Wing." She got a chance to do the real thing on Friday.

Janney won four Emmy Awards playing C.J. Cregg and now stars on "Mom," for which she also won an Emmy.

She took the podium normally reserved for spokesman Josh Earnest and told reporters she hoped to bring attention to the nation's opioid epidemic.

Janney says addiction is a disease that can touch anybody. She noted the White House would be recognizing 10 people from across the country for their work to prevent prescription drug abuse.

A reporter asked Janney who President Bartlet from her old show would be supporting for the Democratic nomination: "I think you know the answer to that," Janney responded.
