Donald Trump Says Paris Attacks Would Have Been 'Much Different Situation' If Citizens Had Guns

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 14 Nov, 2015 02:33 PM
BEAUMONT, Texas — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says the terror attacks in Paris would have been "a much, much different situation" had the victims been armed with guns.

And he says the United States is "insane" to accept any refugees from Syria in the wake of the attacks.

Trump is speaking at a rally in Beaumont, Texas.

He began the event with a moment of silence in honour of the victims of the attacks.

French officials say more than 120 people are dead and hundreds more injured after the series of co-ordinated bombings and shootings.

Trump also criticized President Barack Obama's handling of the Islamic State group, saying that the U.S. should be more aggressive in its approach.

He has been calling for the U.S. to destroy oil fields the group controls.
