LANGLEY, B.C. — An 86-year-old woman who was being rushed to hospital when her ambulance collided with a train in Langley, B.C., has died.
RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy says the woman was transported to hospital following the crash and died shortly after her arrival.
Largy is not offering any details of any injuries the woman suffered or whether police believe her death is connected to the crash.
She also is not saying why the woman was being transported to hospital in the first place or what condition she was in before the collision.
The ambulance was en route to Langley Memorial Hospital on Friday afternoon when a northeast-bound freight train collided with the vehicle.
Largy says the ambulance driver has been released from hospital while the paramedic who had been riding in the back is in stable condition.
