13-Foot Python Swallows A Whole Wallaby In 30 Minutes In A Golf Course

IANS, 14 Dec, 2016 12:10 PM
According to reports, a 13-foot scrup python gobbled a whole wallaby at Far North golf course in Paradise Palms, Cairns, Australia.

It took 30 minutes for the reptile to finish its rather large meal after which it slithered into the bushes. Reportedly, it wrestled with the animal for a bit before fially swallowing it.

Golfer Robert Willemse who captured photos of the python and wallaby was on the 17th hole at the Paradise Palms course when he got to know of the same.

“It had (the wallaby) in a vice-like grip and it was swallowing it. I heard later on… as other golfers and staff members came out to have a look at it, that it did actually succeed in swallowing it all and then it rolled into a dry creek nearby and slithered away into the bush, probably to digest its rather large meal,” he told.

He also suspected that the snake might have dropped on the wallaby (smaller version of kangaroos), who are in abundance in Australia, from a tree.

“The snake would never have been able to catch the wallaby in the open like where it was eating it. It looked like it might have dropped out of a tree, got a hold of (the wallaby), then there was a bit of a struggle and it rolled into the middle of the fairway,” he was quoted as saying.

The pictures have gone viral on various social media
