Review: Royal Canadian Circus show, SPECTAC 2018

Petrina D’Souza, 23 May, 2018 01:59 PM
I had forgotten all about the excitement and amazement a circus show invokes in you. I was recently reminded of it and experienced the electrifying energy first-hand at SPECTAC! 2018. Well-known circus company, Royal Canadian Circus, is currently in BC and touring in the Lower Mainland with their new show, SPECTAC!. From May 17 to June 10, Royal Canadian Circus will be presenting 33 captivating shows at Surrey, Tsawwassen, Richmond and Abbotsford. With jaw-dropping acts by performers from all over the world, SPECTAC! promises to mesmerize, astound, and thrill audiences beyond the extraordinary.

Having watched it first day first show, SPECTAC! is simply astounding. Every act is unique and filled with interesting delights and nerve-wracking moments. Three of my favourites acts were Juggling by world record holder, Tommy Tequila; the Bilea Transformation Act from Romania; and Wheel of Destiny with Joseph Dominik Bauer. One is so mesmerized watching these talented performers create magic on stage that you are simple glued to the seat and holding your breath waiting for what the next second unfolds. Though juggling is constant in every circus show, Tommy Tequila is unlike other jugglers and never ceases to surprise you with his quick moves. The Bilea Transformation Act was something I watched for the first time and it felt like a magic show. Imagine changing your outfit within a second – this impossible task is possible at SPECTAC; you will be left completely stunned by this act. The most terrifying and nail-biting act was the Wheel of Destiny where daredevil Joseph Dominik Bauer (also Ringmaster) was performing stunts on a revolving wheel. Every minute of this act was heart-stopping and left the audience literally shaken.

Royal Canadian Circus’ SPECTAC! 2018 is a must-watch and a great show that can be enjoyed by the young and the old. Plus, the tickets are affordable. Don’t miss this sensational show at any cost.
