PM Modi Shouldn't Have Made His Mother Stand In A Line, Says Arvind Kejriwal Gets Trolled

Darpan News Desk IANS, 15 Nov, 2016 12:21 PM
Calling it a political move, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked PM Narendra Modi for making his 96-year-old mother Heeraben Modi stand in a line in an Ahmedabad bank to swap her currency notes. He said it was not appropriate of the Prime Minister to do so.

“Modiji ne rajneeti ke liye maa ko line me laga theek nahi kiya. Kabhi line me lagna ho to main khud line me lagunga, maa ko line me nahi lagaunga (It wasn’t right of PM Modi to make his mother stand in a line for political means. If I ever have to stand in a line I will do so myself, and not make my mother do so),” the Delhi Chief Minister tweeted.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, 96, visited a bank in Ahmedabad on Tuesday morning to swap her currency notes. After arriving at the bank in a wheelchair, she was helped inside by two ladies accompanying her. Heeraben exchanged Rs 4,500 for new currency notes, news agency ANI reported.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal’s tweet on Hiraba has created a furore on Twitter and here’s what people have to say. Some reminded of Anna Hazare’s fast and some reminded him of the time he swore on his children.
