Pakistan's State-Run TV Apologises For Writing 'Begging' During Imran Khan's Live Speech In China

Darpan News Desk IANS, 05 Nov, 2018 12:56 PM

A Pakistani media channel is being trolled by netizens after it incorrectly spelt Beijing during a live broadcast featuring Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) had messed up the dateline of Khan’s speech by spelling Beijing as “Begging”. Interestingly, during his visit to China, PM Khan is said to have sought financial support from Beijing.

Addressing the issue as a ‘typographical error’, the news channel tweeted that they have initiated “strict action” against those who are responsible for the act

The video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, showed Khan addressing an event at the Central Party School in Beijing, China. The speech was being live streamed by PTV which was when the gaffe was spotted. The dateline on the top left corner of the screen read “begging” instead of Beijing.
