Over 60 Percent People Make Valentine's Day Plans At Last Minute: Survey

Darpan News Desk, 10 Feb, 2016 11:55 AM
Gone are the days when couples used to spend months to plan a perfect Valentine's day as nowadays, they do it closer to the day, says a survey conducted by nearbuy, a local commerce company in the country.

The survey, with over 3000 respondents, revealed that over 62 percent people make Valentine's Day plans at the last minute and only 38 percent people plan in advance -- be it the type of gifts people buy or the amount they spend to woo their sweethearts.

“Our Valentine’s Day campaign is based on the survey insight that majority of people plan their Valentine’s Day spontaneously.

Through these video series, we have used quirky characters to showcase the large collection of plans available with nearbuy for all those who haven’t made any plans yet," Ankur Warikoo, co-founder and CEO, nearbuy, said in a statement.

“People today are ready to spend and are yet not spendthrift when it comes to Valentine’s. They are online-savvy and are always on a look-out for great offers to make a difference,” he added.

The survey also stated that 40 percent Indians are willing to fork out an average of Rs.3,000 to buy their spouse a Valentine's Day gift.

Also, 56 percent respondents prefer buying offers online to save money, reinforcing the fact that Indians don’t want to go overboard with their Valentine’s Day spending.
