On Women’s Day Sachin Tendulkar Turns Chef, Cooks 'Baingan Ka Bharta' For Mother & Wife - WATCH

IANS, 09 Mar, 2019 01:06 AM

Sachin Tendulkar, in a sweet gesture on Women's Day, made baingan ka bharta for his mother and wife Anjali. Tendulkar, who retired from international cricket in 2013, is a well-known foodie and can cook up some lovely dishes. On a special day, Tendulkar decided to do something sweet for his mother and wife and daughter Sara.

The only man to score 100 international hundreds and play 200 Tests, Sachin Tendulkar put fear deep in the hearts of the best bowlers for a quarter of a century. However, on Friday, he was seen in the kitchen stirring up what looked like tasty baingan bharta. Back in the 1990s., Tendulkar had made baingan ka bharta for the entire Indian team at Ajay Jadeja's home.

Tendulkar learnt the art of cooking from his mother and often makes stunning dishes for family and friends.

Not surprisingly, he wanted his mother to taste his dish first. "This bharta is for my mother, Anjali and Sara. I want my mother to taste this first because she spent hours and hours cooking this for me when I was a kid," Tendulkar said in the video.

"No, turned out well," Tendulkar's mom said.

Tendulkar then goes to his mother's room where she was praying. She had a spoon of the bharta and gave a great review. Sachin could be heard asking: "Is it spicy?"

Tendulkar also played a prank on the camera and acted as if he cut his finger while chopping the vegetables for the dish.

After finishing the bharta he first took it to his mother to try and tell him how’s the taste. And as regular mother she found no fault in the bharta which the former cricketer pointed out.

"That's how mothers are. Even if you fail in any attempt, they never tell you," Tendulkar said, concluding the heart-warming video.
