New bilingual children’s book captivates, educates and dazzles

Darpan News Desk, 10 May, 2016 10:27 AM

Dia L. Michels editor of Washington, DC, specializes in creating children's books bilingual (English / Spanish) exquisitely illustrated that entertain while they teach health and science.

Her most recent book, Nurtured and nuzzled • Retainers and petted , is designed specifically for bilingual education starting at an early age in a fun and entertaining way.

Incredibly detailed illustrations by wildlife artist, Michael Speiser, capture how young are cared for by their parents in a variety of natural habitats and behaviors.

There are bears pandas caressing their young in fields of green eucalyptus, lynx and polar bears hocicándose. Manatees and dolphins caring for their young in warm lagoons. The book shows 18 species of animals in a variety of habitats, from the deepest ocean savage jungle. The images are both sweet as scientifically accurate.

Each page illustrates how babies are loaded and cuddled, snuggled and protected, raised and cherished. The book celebrates the bond between parents and children in English and Spanish.

Michels decided to adopt this style of publication after understanding the value and importance of bilingual ability in children and adults.
