In the early morning hours of January 13th, Langley RCMP received calls of two separate robberies at convenience stores in Langley – one in Murrayville and one in Brookswood.
Officers attended and spoke with the victims at the two locations and found that in both robberies the suspect produced an axe. Cigarettes, cash and a till drawer from a cash register were taken. A description of the suspect vehicle was given and fortunately Air One was in the area and able to locate the vehicle quickly.

Air One observed the vehicle as it drove through Langley at a high rate of speed not stopping at intersections. The vehicle came to rest at a residence in south Langley. Langley officers attended and found the vehicle parked in the driveway as described by Air One. The suspect was still sitting in the driver’s seat. He was ordered to exit and placed under arrest.
Items matching the description of those stolen were found scattered throughout the vehicle in addition to the hatchet.
