Jury To Consider Punitive Damages In Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Lawsuit

The Canadian Press, 21 Mar, 2016 01:03 PM
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Jurors will return to a Florida court to consider punitive damages against Gawker Media after already awarding former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan $115 million in a lawsuit over a sex tape.

Jurors will return to court at 1 p.m. Monday in a case that's being closely watched by media lawyers and privacy advocates.

On Monday morning, lawyers for both sides convened in court to discuss jury instructions for the punitive phase and other legal details.

Hogan sued Gawker after it posted a video of him having sex with his then-best friend's wife. Hogan said he didn't know he was being taped.

Gawker already has said it will appeal.

On Friday, he took to Twitter, posting, "Told ya I was gonna slam another giant."
