Elders Ban Music, Dance At Weddings In Pakistan Village

Darpan News Desk IANS, 28 May, 2016 11:50 AM
The elected local government representatives in a Pakistani village have banned music and dance during wedding celebrations, it was reported on Saturday.

The announcement was made through loudspeakers in Sheikhan village of Punjab province on Friday, Express News reported.

People were asked to avoid these activities at all cost since the representatives said they had concrete information shared by security forces that militants could target such gatherings.

When contacted, police said they had not received any intelligence warning that stated militants could attack musical programmes.
