Couple Married 52 Years Loves Wearing Matching Outfits

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Sep, 2016 03:01 PM
Anthony Gargiula, 17-year-old grandson of Ed and Fran Gargiula got to know the story behind their matching outfits when he met them in August. Reportedly, the two started matching their outfits a little over a year ago.

Anthony told Buzzfeed that his grandparents used to match their outfits for square-dancing classes but before the class, the two used to go to church. So this one time when they didn’t wear similar clothes to the church, people noticed and inquired about the change. That’s when they decided to make it a point that they match their clothes every day.

“They were really big in the square-dancing world and they would order coordinating outfits for the square dances. They always had dances on Saturday nights. They’d go to church before the square dances, and if they we weren’t matching everyone would ask, ‘Where are your matching outfits?’ My mom thought they should just match every day so people get a chuckle out of it,” the couple’s son, Rich Gargiula, told ABC News.

And after Anthony visited them, his grandfather decided to send their pictures to him for the next few days. Excited, he shared them on Twitter and they went viral in no time. “my grandparents have been married for 52 years and they match outfits every day,” he wrote.

As expected, many are left awed by their love and affection for each other and justifiably so. Anthony also shared the news of the two going viral on social media with them and well, they can’t be happier.
