Zakir Hussain And Hariharan To Perform In US

    Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and singer Hariharan will perform at George Washington University in Washington, US, on September 4, a media report said.
     
    The two renowned musicians will perform several shows during their Hazir USA Tour 2015. 
     
    Tour includes the Lisner Auditorium, Washington, (September 4), Detroit (September 11) and Dallas (September 13), The American Bazaar reported on Tuesday.
     
    Hussain was awarded Padma Shri in 1988, while Hariharan, who has made an indelible mark as a playback singer in Bollywood, was awarded Padma Shri in 2004.
     
    Both are performing together after 20 years.
     
    Hazir USA Tour’s Washington, leg is organised by Greater Washington Area Physicians of Indian Origin (GWAPI).
     
    Headed by Manbir Takhar, GWAPI has been involved in several charitable and medical activities in the Washington, DC area.
     
    The tickets for the shows range from $50 - $250 and the proceeds from ticket sales from the event will go to fund two scholarships for high school students who want to study medicine.
     
    "Our audience will have an experience of their lives, with two legends performing together for the first time after 20 years," Manish Sood, a national promoter of the tour was quote as saying.
