Armed youths abducted a woman getting her bridal make-up done at a salon at Ghas Mandi Chowk here on Friday morning. The girl was rescued from Ferozepur, SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi confirmed and said some accused too have been arrested.
The 30-year-old woman from a village in Fazilka district had arrived at the salon here for the bridal make-up. Her brothers had reportedly dropped her at the salon around 6 am. Around 6.15, the accused arrived there in two cars and abducted her.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
Sources said that as per the video footage, the woman resisted but was overpowered. They claimed that the youths seen in the video were armed.
SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi said, “The family has lodged a complaint and we are registering a case against two youths by name and a few unidentified ones.”
