You Do Not Wash Your Dirty Linen In Public. I Will Sort Out The Issue With The Chief Minister: Sidhu

IANS, 03 Dec, 2018 01:44 PM
Punjab Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu will meet Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to sort out their differences over his recent statement.

Talking to media in Rajasthan on Monday, Sidhu said, “You do not wash your dirty linen in public. I will sort out the issue with the Chief Minister.”

Being on election tour, Sidhu is not attending Monday’s cabinet meeting. But he would soon meet the CM to sort out the issue.

Sources said Punjab party affairs incharge Asha Kumari had intervened to prevent the matter from escalating. She is learnt to have talked to the Chief Minister and Sidhu and seen the controversial video clip.

A senior party leader after Sidhu’s statement said Amarinder loyalists had taken the fight to the streets. It is time for the party to take credit for opening of the Kartarpur corridor and not for its leaders to fight with one another much to the embarrassment of the party leadership, he added.

The controversy erupted when Sidhu in Hyderabad called Congress president Raul Gandhi his "captain" and Amarinder an "Army Captain". His remarks came a day after he returned from Pakistan after attending the ground-breaking ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor.
