Woman In Noida, Near Delhi, Stabbed 32 Times By Live-In Partner

Darpan News Desk IANS, 14 Jul, 2016 12:58 PM
A gym instructor allegedly stabbed his live-in partner 32 times in a house in Noida's sector 73, leaving her in a critical condition, police said today.

28-year-old Varun Goyal, who is accused of the crime, has been arrested. Mr Goyal runs a gym in Ghaziabad.

"Mr Goyal had a heated argument with the woman, a divorcee, as she was apparently pressuring him for marriage." SHO Dinesh Yadav said.

Mr Goyal allegedly stabbed her 32 times with a kitchen knife. The neighbours heard her screams of help and informed the police.

When the police team arrived, they found the woman in a pool of blood and rushed her to a hospital nearby, from where she was rushed to LNJP hospital in New Delhi. She is in critical condition.

"The victim is five years younger than Varun Goyal and had rented the house a year ago. Varun had moved in as a live-in partner," the police said.

The woman's home town is in Gorakhpur and she works in private company in Nodia's sector 63. She was earlier living with her brother in Indirapuram. She befriended Mr Goyal in the gym and thereafter shifted to Noida.

An attempt to murder case has been filed against Varun Goyal on the basis of a complaint by the woman's brother.
