WATCH: Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal Catches Traffic Cops 'Taking Bribe'

    Setting a precedent, which may deter the corrupt in the police department, Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Thursday caught two traffic cops policemen allegedly taking bribe from commuters at Gurthli bridge, near Doraha.
     
    Badal referred the matter to Ludhiana Police Commissioner Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh for relevant action against the guilty cops.
     
    As the Police Commissioner enquired about the identity of the cops, they were found attached to Khanna police. The place where they had put up a naka fell under the Khanna police limits.
     
     
    DIG, Ludhiana Range, S K Kalia has suspended the guilty cops, identified as Manjit Singh and Harjit Singh.
     
    Sources said Manpreet Badal was on the way to Chandigarh from Ferozepur in his Innova car. He was driving himself and there was no beacon atop his car or escort vehicle with him.
