A woman was shot dead by her husband at their home in Jadoda village under Badgaon Police Station in Saharanpur district, officials said Friday.
The woman was identified as Nilima, 28, wife of Sanjiv Kumar. She was shot when she tried to stop her husband from having alcohol on Thursday evening, said Saharanpur police officer Dinesh Kumar.
The accused used his licenced revolver in the shooting, the police officer added.
A murder case has been filed against Sanjiv, who is on the run, he added.
The government order will be applicable for students of Class 1-12 in state-funded schools.
"Witnesses claimed they heard the sound of firecrackers going off and later found the boy lying unconscious," the officer said.
The accused was apparently angry with his daughter for being continuously hooked to her mobile phone.
For changing the name of a village or town or a city, an executive order is needed. The renaming of a state requires amendment of the Constitution with a simple majority in Parliament.
